Introduction

The ocean covers about 70% of Earth’s surface and includes 99% of its habitable space. Despite being the largest habitat on Earth, much of the ocean remains unknown and unexplored. Ocean exploration is the first step to understanding what lies beneath the surface. Scientists use ocean exploration vessels, including NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer, Exploration Vessel Nautilus, and Research Vessel Falkor, to collect valuable data that help us understand the mysteries of the deep. These vessels are also equipped with broadcast technology that allow us to share their expeditions live online. Stay up to date with where these vessels are exploring now and connect your learners with the deep sea!
